| Sdp | BVSS leverages its niche on Environmental Science and Sustainable Living to develop the Applied Learning Programme (ALP) on 'Clean Energy and Environmental Technology'. This ALP is part of the BVSS-designed Junior OUtstanding Leaders in Energy for Sustainability (JOULES) Programme where it aims to inculcate students with the knowledge and experience in the area of environment and sustainable energy as well as emphasizing the development of environmental student leadership. All students are part of the JOULES programme where they will undergo tier 1 programme in lower secondary and selected students in tier 2 programme in their upper secondary. As part of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education, BVSS also focusses on developing students through the Coding and Computational Thinking Infused (CACTUS) Curriculum. This is the school's deliberate approach to integrate coding programmes into different subjects through multiple platforms. This allows students to transfer the CACTUS skills learnt to other disciplines subjects ranging from Computing, Math, Science, ALP and Citizenship and Character Education. BVSS delivers its Learning for Life (LLP) - 'Learning the Arts, Living the Values - Character Education through Drama' via Literature and Social Studies lessons for lower secondary students. This complements the robust school-wide and developmental CCE Programme which includes cohort and modular leadership training, life-skills training and Education Career Guidance. Learning at BVSS is centred on providing and designing engaging experiences through authentic and meaningful learning tasks. Our 5E Curriculum Approach coupled with WRAITEC Thinking tool as well as harnessing ICT affordances provides students with an enriching and engaging learning environment. |
