Sdp | The school offers a Learning for Life Programme in 'Creative Expressions: Expressing Creatively Through Visual and Performing Arts'. Creative Expressions aid in developing students' ability to acquire new skills; collaborate with one another; communicate effectively; be innovative and flexible; and to strive for excellence. These competencies are nurtured through the Arts and Aesthetics Programme where students are offered various electives in the genre: drama, music and dance, based on their interest. Apart from picking up new skills, students go through various stages of critique and peer evaluation, which reinforces empathy, communication and collaboration. To promote applied learning in the academic domain, the school has an Applied Learning Programme in 'Creative Engineering: Inter-disciplinary Authentic Problem Solving'. Using the Design Thinking framework, the school aims to integrate problem solving into the disciplines of Mathematics and the Sciences (Physics). The school is implementing greater flexibility in subject offering at lower secondary levels. Eligible N(A) and N(T) students can take some subjects at a higher level starting from Secondary 1, based on their PSLE results. Beyond the start of Secondary 1, students can also do so if they do well in those subjects. |

Ethos | Tampines Secondary School aims to develop every Tampinesian into a self-directed and motivated learner who embodies the school values of Teamwork, Perseverance, Service and Success. In an environment of care and excellence, students are equipped with the skills and competencies required to thrive in the future. Towards this endeavour, the school offers customised cohort anchor programmes such as Modern Day Science, Media Literacy, Mathepulative, and Authentic Problem Solving through Design Thinking, to ignite students' curiosity and extend their learning beyond the standard curriculum. The school's co-curriculum provides opportunities for students to develop character, acquire leadership and life skills, as well as prepares them for their next phase of learning. Quality school experiences are provided through level camps, cohort bonding activities, service learning projects, education and career guidance programmes and leadership training adapted from Ron Edmonson's 3C Leadership Model. Beyond academic and character development, the school aims to inculcate in its students a healthy and active lifestyle. The school promotes a sporting culture through its signature programme, SPARKs (Sports & Play for Active & Recreational Kids), which provides opportunities for students to be engaged in sports electives such as handball, tchoukball and floorball during curriculum time. These sporting activities further reinforce collaboration skills, team spirit and commitment in all Tampinesians to strive for excellence. Through these varied and customised learning experiences, the school provides a holistic education to bring out the Best in Every Individual according to his or her interests and abilities. |
